It’s still the Summer of the SUPERGROUP! The next assembly to follow Chickenfoot, Monsters of Folk and the Dead Weather is THEM CROOKED VULTURES which feature Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) on drums, vocalist & guitarist Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal) and bassist & keyboardist John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)…thats right LED FUCKING ZEP. The band also has Alain Johannes (QOTSA & Eleven) as live guitarist. The band’s debut album, Never Deserved the Future, will be released in October. Here is a clip!

The Dead Weather “Treat Me Like Your Mother”

I couldnt deprive my co-author AliUptown of the pleasure of seeing Jack White armed to the teeth and wearing tight pants in this video “Treat Me Like Your Mother” directed by Jonathan Glazer.

The Dead Weather’s Horehound is out TODAY (Tue the 14th) Go fucking get it or we will all think you are a weirdo whose afraid of good records. The Dead Weather are taking over the WOXY (http://www.woxy.com/) airwaves for an exclusive day-of-release DJ set starting 1pm (CST?). Jack White, Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (QOTSA) and Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) will all be hosting/spinning the jams. The show will also repeat Saturday, July 18th from 4-6PM.

$100 gets you in to the most amazing QOTSA show ever.

On July 2nd of this year, occasional member of Queens of the Stone Age, Natasha Shneider, succumbed to cancer leaving behind a elegant legacy and some unfortunate financial obligations.

Natasha ShneiderIn her honor, QOTSA will be holding a concert at the Music Box @ the Fonda on Saturday, August 16th. Joining them will be an army of Rock and Roll guests including PJ Harvey, Jack Black + Kyle Gass (not billed as Tenacious D), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden), Brody Dalle (The Distillers), Jesse “The Devil” Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal), Billy F. Gibbons (lead beard player from ZZ Top), Chris Goss (QOTSA Producer), and Alain Johannes (Eleven). Natasha’s band, Eleven, included members of what would become the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Tickets are $100 with proceeds going to offset Natasha Schneiders remaining medical and burial costs. Donations are also being accepted through http://www.natashashneider.org.
