Rage Against the Machine Show Shut Down at RNC in Minnesota
September 3rd, 2008 by intr0vertIt has to start somewhere, it has to start sometime. What better place than here? What better time than now?
As AliUptown and I watched Rage Against the Machine‘s amazing performance at Lollapalooza last month proselytizing that if Obama is elected in November (and for fucks sake he better be) that they’re going to have to start listening to the people again or (to paraphrase) a lot of angry citizens are going to burn down Washington, D.C., I couldn’t help but feel that RATM had become what the MC5 were to the ’68 DNC. Mind you, this was a month before the ’08 DNC where similar comparisons were being made mostly to stir up incident by Fucks News. I told this theory at the time to the few people around me who seemed to shrug in apathy/unfamiliarity. And I think that is the essential problem in the world today. A lack of History. We just keep repeating, and repeating, and repeating. But let me guess, you can name the winners of American Idol in order?
