Anyone watch the season finale of Mad Men?
The ending was surprisingly non-cryptic. This show is so very genius to me, I feel about it the way my co-author feels about ‘The Wire‘ (which I tried very hard to get into, but gave up after 3 episodes. I’ve been told by numerous people and Wikipedia that it gets better. Maybe another time.). Anycrap, I got a kick out of the SNL sketch with Jon Hamm last weekend, thought I’d share.
I gotta be honest, there was more to this post, but it somehow got deleted, and I haven’t the energy to rewrite the whole thingy.
Now let’s get me outta this skirt.

I ,too, tried to get into The Wire. Couldn’t do it. I just didn’t find it interesting.
I loved the Mad Men finale. I’m sad that I have to wait a year to find out what happens next.

I know, me too. Betty is such an assclown of a human being. But it’s entertaining watching her make mistakes.

She’s the only character that drives me nuts. When the show first started, I really couldn’t stand Peggy but now she’s one of my favorites. The mark of a really good show is the ability to take characters you like or don’t like and switch up your assumptions and views of them.
The only thing that sort of sucks is that there are so many characters that the show just doesn’t have time to devote what it needs to them. I really felt terrible for Joan when she got to read the scripts and then they just brushed her aside. She wants what Peggy has but doesn’t have the ability to achieve it. I wish they would have explored that a bit more.
i love this show. And I have a man crush on Jon Hamm :)

If you haven’t caught some episodes with Omar then you haven’t seen enough of The Wire. He rips off drug dealers like fuckin Robin Hood, he’s the toughest motherfucker on the streets and he’s totally queer! But it’s not for everyone. It gets REALLY REALLY hard to follow every character and their individual motivations from The Cops, The Street, The Schools, The Docks, The Media and City Hall. Not that much is obvious about it until someone gets shot in the head. But as far as ‘crime dramas” are concerned Law and Order is fucking boring crap for Matlock viewers. The Wire fucking owns.
The 3rd – 5th Seasons are the best. Especially the packaging for the 5th. I jumped in on the 3rd and went back to 1 and 2 and you’re right, Season One isn’t all that exciting.
