Oh sweet nectar! Superjail from Augenblick Studios is 3 episodes into it’s crazy/beautiful first season Sundays on [AdultSwim]. It’s faster than meth, most episodes require at least 2 viewings and no less than probably 50 inmates and bystanders die in creative and painfully interesting ways.

Superjail stars David Wain as the Warden, whom you should probably know from MTV’s The State or from his comedy troupe turned short lived TV show Stella. (How is it that bullshit like Lost and Heroes gets picked up for 10 seasons and shit but amazing shows like those get killed?) Each episode starts with a remorseless criminal, Jacknife, commiting a heinous act (murder, armed robbery …necrophilia) where he immediately gets caught by the Jailbot who flys him over the seas and around the world to the volcano that holds Superjail. The Warden is aided by Alice, superjails only tough-as-nails bestubbled tranny guard and Jared, a high strung recovering alcoholic in charge of the illogical whims of the Warden.

I really think that this is the most amazingly future tensed animation since Liquid Television/Cartoon Sushi and if I could have an entire channel of these [adult swim]-relative shows (Mike and Spike’s Twisted Animation decendents) I would actually get cable. You can watch [adult swim] online as I do where you can see Sundays episodes starting the previous Friday Night.

They may be taken down, but if you want to eat your desert before dinner, 3 episodes from later in the season have been leaked on youtube. But I recommend watching whats available on adult swim first.
