The Dark Knight …is Art.

Whatever they’ve written about The Dark Knight. It’s all true.

Heath Ledger’s swan song was breathtaking. This is the insane, full force, no bullshit Joker that every Batman Comics reader has hoped would see reality. His magnificent performance pushes this highest-caliber crime drama completely beyond the superhero genre. Christopher Nolan has thrown us to the absolute bottom of the rabbit hole. The plot twists like a leviathan and fearlessly spares NO ONE. My biggest concern is that this movie killed the franchise. Enjoy this movie… there may be nowhere left to go from here.

The marketing was perhaps the best that has ever been in American Cinema. If you believe The Dark Knight is over hyped, then you haven’t seen it yet.

9.4/10 - I’m not telling you this is the perfect movie, It felt a bit stretched and sometimes hard to swallow… but its faults are few and far between. This Is Art.

Should you be in Hollywood and lucky enough to catch it at the Arclight, Costumes from the film and the Bat Pod will be on display this weekend. Who’s ready for The Watchmen?

Aaargh! The wife’s out of town this weekend (shooting Outpost Doom) and I’m alone with our 2-year-old daughter. Maybe I could lock her in a pet travel kennel while I sneak out to see The Dark Knight…

Oh, and that Watchmen trailer that’s going around… looks pretty good. At the very least, there’s nothing in it that turns my stomach as a huge fan of the book. If anyone out there hasn’t read the comic, well, it’s probably the greatest graphic novel ever.

I can’t wait to see it. A good friend of mine and co-worker this summer assisted the art director and production designer while filming in Chicago. Glad to hear his claims are true.

a very good movie…but not great.

Ledger owns this film. Two-Face arc poorly handled. Batman should never go to Hong Kong. Way too many different bad guys. More focus on Batman himself would have been nice. Heavyhanded use of illegal surveillance by Batman and Lucious was eye-rolling (so, Bush is totally like Batman, i guess?).

A really enjoyable film with an absolutely brilliant performance by Leger, but this isn’t the be all end all of movies

I had a hard time with the film. Hated Christian Bale’s Batman voice…truly awful. Also found two-faced plain silly. As MaT says, the Honk Kong thing was odd…and focused on so heavily at the beginning only to disappear mid-movie. I think the true fault of the film was being so hyped. I expected (just a bit) for it to change my life…because people had told me how amazing it was. At the end, I just had to pee real bad.

yeah, Bale’s Batman voice is horrendous. I still think this was a fine film, but people are talking about it as if it is the greatest thing since Citizen Kane. It’s not.

For example, right now it is sitting at #1 on imdb’s top 250 movies of all time. Ahead of The Godfather, among others. Are you kidding me? It’s good, but not greatest ever good.

As long as it’s better than Titanic…which it is.

I need to stop posting when tipsy. It was indeed better than Titanic…but so is watching paint dry.
