The public should have a vote on which drugs remain criminal. As every piece of research i have ever read has indicated, TREATMENT is the solution to our drug problem. $1 of treatment saves $7 in law enforcement. "F*ck Tha Police" vibe you've got going on :) Generally, I give cops a lot of slack. They don't know WTF is going to happen in a given situation. If I were a cop, I'd err on the side of over-tasering junkies 100% of the time. If we'd fix our stupid drug laws and end the worthless "War on Drugs", then maybe the cops wouldn't have to be on such a hair-trigger all the time. Not all police (of course) are in it for the power...but, let me tell y'all, I don't trust those former students with my safety or justice.
